Many thanks to Michelle Place for the thought-provoking discuss of good vs. evil, and for filling in at the last minute!

Next week we’re looking forward to hearing our adopted clergy-in-training Ben Pascoe speak. His topic is “Deconstructing Genesis.”

Thanks to Lynn Jesse and Sherry and Jim Griffin for the beautiful and delicious spread! The Meredith-Orrs and Michelle Place will host this week.

Thank you to Meredith Davison for the class prayer.

Birthdays:

24 Steve Dixon

26 William Meyer

29 Roger Rowe

Anniversaries:

24 Susie and Mark Butterworth

28 Shari and Lynn Goodwin

30 Jane and Alan Smith

Visitors:

Kristy Hayes, our Exodus House resident

The Youngs and her mother (sorry, lost my notes.)

Announcements:

Meredith Davison announced that Operation Hope has a critical need for toiletries. Please bring personal toiletry items and paper products to class during July and she and Richard will get them to the right place. Operation Hope is a prison ministry that offers support services to those impacted by incarceration.

Angie Dale spoke to us about helping a fellow BA member who is in need right now. Joanie Hatley is a single mother and pianist who showed an amazing dedication to the BAY Troupe production of “Curtains” as well as her other musical jobs at church while undergoing chemo. She works multiple jobs while raising two songs. She has home maintenance needs that Angie and Jim Embrey suggested that we could help with. Lynn Jesse moved, and Meredith seconded a $200 donation for supplies, with any excess funds going to Joanie in the form of gift cards. The motion carried. Jim will organize personnel to complete the work.

Sharon Bookout announced a free Community Band concert Thursday night at the Tulsa Historical Society. It begins at 6:30, and would be a great setting for a picnic.

Lee Nichols is looking for a responsible young adult to stay with their daughter July 19-21.

Joys and Concerns:

Denny thanked the Paytons for hosting a very fun Wine Tasting auction party.

Michelle thanked everyone for their concerns about her daughter, Laura, who is in Fort Collins. She is fine although the smoke is very bad. Keep the firefighters in your prayers.

The Goodwins were happy to announce the forthcoming addition of a son-in-law to their family. Their daughter’s wedding is next weekend in Ft. Worth.

See you Sunday!
