Maranatha News From August 26

Here’s the news from Maranatha.

Thanks to Gary Peluso for his two week series on “The Meaning of Work.” We appreciated his perspective and the thought-provoking discussion afterwards. This Sunday, Maranatha members of the

Bolivia Mission Team will tell us about their recent trip.

Bill Gertsen and Patti and Gary Smith provided a wonderful spread for us. Thank you! This week David and Melanie Shepherd will host.

Thank you to Bob Russell for his wonderful prayer.

Urgent Prayer Request

This just came from Lynn Jessee . . .

I just got an email from one of my high school friends and they have rushed her 8 year old granddaughter to the Denver Hospital in critical condition. She has been diagnosed with Bubonic Plague. They think she contacted it on their vacation in the mountains. She is running 107 temperature and very very ill. She needs all of our prayers. My friends name is Jayne Dowing. Please pray for this precious child.

Thanks so much, Lynn

American Red Cross Benefit Dinner

As you may recall, Nikki Smith began her new job with the American Red Cross recently and she quickly became involved with disaster relief efforts for victims of the Oklahoma wildfires. The Juniper Restaurant contacted her about hosting a benefit dinner, and one of the chefs is Paul Wilson, Pam Sherman’s son. Please take a look at the attached flyer for details.

Thanks,
Suzy Meredith-Orr

Great Day At BA Begins This Sunday

Hello friends,

Great Day at BA begins this Sunday and we hope you’ll be able to attend Maranatha that morning. We’re excited that Gary Peluso from Phillips Theological Seminary will speak on "The Meaning of Work."

Great Day lasts for four weeks and it would be so nice if Maranatha was called to stand up and be counted for good attendance at each of those Sundays.

Next year we’ll consult the church calendar before scheduling our vacation. But we know Meredith and Richard and Lynn and Bob have done their usual best as leaders. Meredith will lead this class the week–many thanks to all for the help.

Warm regards,
Suzy & Denny
