Maranatha Newsletter

Hey, friends:

Attached you will find this week’s newsletter. Sorry that it is later than usual, but my real job took all my attention until now. There are a ton of important things happening at the church during the next couple of weeks so please look carefully at the announcements section of the newsletter. We also have a number of joys and concerns that merit detailed attention and responsive prayer.

Jim and I will be gone this weekend so Jim Embrey has graciously agreed to return to the podium (and the keyboard) and serve as the class President on Sunday and to produce the newsletter next week. We are very grateful to him and promise to remain within the confines of Tulsa County after we return!

Have a good week and remember that you are appreciated, enjoyed and admired by your class members.

Sharon and Bruce Chucoski – TODAY

Hey, friends:

I am slammed at work this week so I can’t get the newsletter out for a couple of days. However, since this is time sensitive, I wanted to tell you that Suzy Morgan contacted me to let us know that charter Maranatha members Bruce and Sharon Chucoski (Rob Morgan’s sister and brother-in-law) are moving back to Tulsa TODAY. If any Maranatha members are available to drop by and welcome them (or even unload a box or two), they would feel very warmly welcomed back to town. The address is:

3728 E. 64th Pl. (Pointe South)

We’d love to have them back in Maranatha so any warm hospitality that we can extend today might help us snag them.

Go forth and be Maranatha!

Thanks,
Angie

Maranatha Newsletter

Hey, friends:

Attached you will find your newsletter for this week, which contains all the news I know (and possibly some that I invented). Hopefully these newsletters can help us stay connected and in communication throughout the week.

I am sorry to inform you that Carol Maus’ father passed away yesterday after class. I don’t know the arrangements yet for a service, but please watch your inboxes for information on how we can help support Carol, Mickey and the family. Mary Bundren also had back surgery today so hopefully that went well and she can finally start to heal. I believe that Carol and Dave Grim are returning today from the loss of their own family member so the Caranatha hotline will be back in action meeting the needs of our members.

If you need me this week, please make sure that you email my personal address adale as I will be out of my office and have difficulty checking the Maranatha account.

Have a good week and remember that you are appreciated, enjoyed and admired by your class members.

Maranatha Newsletter

Hey, friends:

Jim and I are back from visiting our daughter Molleigh during her semester abroad in Brazil. While it was a lovely visit, it was also wonderful to know that the class was being marvelously managed by former Presidents Jim and Julee Embrey, who graciously agreed to step back into their old positions. I also need to especially thank Karen Campbell who stepped up last week and did the majority of organization for the Minute To Win It Tournament and Pot Luck Social in my absence. Although Molleigh’s Portuguese is developing nicely, the only two words I learned were "obrigada" and "caipivodka." The first means "thank you" when spoken by a woman (a man says "obrigado") and the second was my favorite Brazilian beverage. So, obrigada to Jim, Julee, Karen and the rest of the Social Committee for making everything look seamless even when Jim and I weren’t there to do our part.

One thing to note this week is that BASE (Boston Avenue Service Experience) Camp is this Sunday, April 10th. Jim Embrey has provided a list of suggestions for those people participating in our Burroughs Elementary mission, including wearing your work clothes and bringing outdoor work gloves, hats, boots and other outdoor attire with you to church so you’ll be ready to roll after the 11:00 service.

Angela Hooper will be back this Sunday for the second of her lessons on how to pray. I heard the first lesson was terrific (missed it due to food poisoning), so I’m looking forward to hearing her second lesson.

Hope you have a great week and remember that you are appreciated, enjoyed and admired by your class members.

See you Sunday.
Angie
