Maranatha Newsletter

Hey, friends:

Okay, this is tricky. I feel like a mother hen, afraid that all my ducklings aren’t going to follow me and will somehow end up lost. Remember how I said in class that we would still meet in the Maranatha classroom even though we were partnering with Pilgrimage to hear Rabbi Charles Sherman this coming Sunday? Well, Facilities Manager Cliff Duncan just about snorted coffee out his nose when he heard that one. Apparently the numbers are such that there is no way we can get enough chairs into our classroom to fit everyone. SO WE ARE MOVING TO COMMUNITY HALL FOR JUST THIS ONE SUNDAY, MAY 15TH, TO HEAR RABBI SHERMAN.

All the timing is still the same. (Visiting with friends from 9:30 to 9:45, announcements from 9:45 to 10:00, lesson from 10:00 to 10:40). The only difference for class business is that we probably won’t do joys and concerns since Pilgrimage will also need some time for their announcements.

If you have joys and concerns, please write them out and give them to me so I can put them in the newsletter on Monday.

There will still be snacks and coffee, although we probably need to increase the quantities since Pilgrimage thinks they may have up to 70 people showing up for the lesson. If your cooking muse shows up on Saturday and causes you to want to bring something on Sunday, that would be great but not imperative. Jim and I will grab some bagels, and we have guilty and healthy snacks already covered with our regular schedule. Apparently PIlgrimage does two boxes of donuts each week so they will contribute that. We won’t starve and the coffee is mercifully close in the kitchen.

It should be a great lesson from a great speaker.

See you in Community Hall!
