Maranatha Newsletter for Dec. 24th

Since this newsletter is for our class on Christmas Eve, I’ll say ‘Merry Christmas’ one last time.

Jim Embrey gave the last of our Advent series lessons today.

Next week, we will close out 2017 with a Brunch with the Frontier class.

Have a great week!

Love Generously

This is an inspiring time of the year when we generously give donations to a host of charities. For some, it is also a time where we fulfill or exceed our annual pledge commitments to Boston Avenue Church. This has been a very favorable year if you have equity investments such as stocks and diversified portfolios. I want remind everyone that you can transfer stock to the church and avoid the capital gains tax.
Your gift will be the fair market value of the stock. Just contact Brenda Reed for more detail.

Your giving to our church ministries (Operating Fund) is very important and very appreciated. May we all continue to Love Generously and give generously.

Maranatha Newsletter for Dec. 10th

Maranatha,

Merry Christmas! (I can say that for a few more weeks.)

It looks like all our class positions have been filled for 2018.

Janet Purinton was our Advent speaker for today. Her lesson centered on whether your holiday is Christmas or Confusion, are you moving towards Bethlehem or Bedlam.

Our Advent speaker for next week is Elizabeth Green.

Hope to see you there.

2018 Officers/Committees

Greetings! We need someone to step forward to be our Newsletter Editor for 2018. This is a key role in keeping us connected during the year. It would be wonderful if one of you (or 2 so there is always a backup) would hear this calling and let me know. That would mean we would have members for every role. Oh yes, I should tell you that Rick Evans and Roger Rowe have step forward to share the President role next year. Isn’t that wonderful! These men appear to be as busy serving in roles that don’t pay as they were when they earned money. Our class is blessed to have such talent to lead us.

Below is our line up so far. You can still volunteer for a committee.

President: Rick Evans and Roger Rowe

Newsletter Editor: (OPEN)

VP Curriculum: Karen Campbell

VP Missions: Richard Wansley and Meredith Davison will Co-Chair.

Maranatha Newsletter for Dec. 3rd

Maranatha,

Merry Christmas!

The annual Christmas Party was it’s normal success with food, beverages, and fellowship. We do have the final total for all of the auction items, but you’ll have to open the newsletter to find out.

If you follow Sistema, there will be several opportunities for performances over the next couple of weeks. Those are also listed in the newsletter.

We started our Advent Lesson series today. Michelle Place was our speaker and there was more information from her than I can related in 4 or 5 sentences,,, but I’ll try.

Next week Janet Purinton will be our Advent series speaker.

We didn’t cover Joys & Concerns in class so you may want to read that section as there are some prayer requests of which you’ll want to be aware.

Have a great week and we’ll see you on Sunday!

Prayer request or Joys

Once again, I failed to ask for your prayer concerns or your joys. If you will reply to this email, we will include it in our class newsletter this week. I seem to be apologizing a lot lately.
