This Sunday Dr. Joel Panciera continued his Lenten series with a discussion of sacraments, Baptism and Communion. The word sacraments comes from "sacra" meaning set apart or holy. We should strive to make the act of baptism a way of life rather than a single act. Since we become a new creation following baptism we should life our life differently. His series of presentations have been very thought provoking, both spiritually and intellectually.

However, he is appreciative of our cards and prayers. Several class members (Richard Wansley, Jeff Allen, Micky Maus, Walter Berg and Rick Evans) along with pastor Rev. Amy Venable celebrated Jimmy Berg’s retirement after 39 years at the Downtown Hyatt Hotel last week. Congratulations, Jimmy! It was a joy to have Jim and Sheri Griffin in class on Sunday! Carol Grim had a severe drug reaction that caused itchy hives this week. We hope she is doing better. Bruce and Sharon Chucoski’s daughter-in-law who recently had a baby is now out of the hospital. Sharon has traveled to their home to stay for a few weeks to help the family. Please keep all of our classmates in our thoughts and prayers during this Lenten season. Have a wonderful week! We hope to see you next Sunday. Carol and Meredith
