Eric Green Update – Great News!

Hello, All,

Soon after the last News email was sent Janet stopped by to let me know she had just spoken to Eric and it appears the first round of treatment has done some great things – so much so that he was talking about coming home for the weekend and maybe being in class Sunday. WONDERFUL NEWS!

Eric’s birthday is next week and Janet suggested that if you would like to bring a birthday card for him we will collect them secretly at the sign in table on Sunday. Audra Fogel has indicated she will collect them and deliver them along with others form the Youth.

Please keep Eric in your prayers and, if you wish, bring a card on Sunday to help him celebrate his birthday!

Thank you!

Denny

Maranatha News from March 18, 2012 – Draft

We were very excited to have so many people from various classes came together on Sunday to hear Rev. Cynthia Harvey, Deputy General Secretary of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Her passion for carrying out the work of the church and providing humanitarian efforts wherever needed was very inspiring. She is a role model for the devotion to people in need we all should strive to nurture. We were blessed with her presence in our classroom.

Here’s the news from Maranatha Class this past Sunday . . .

Since we learned that UMCOR is funded by the One Great Hour of Sharing offering held each year during Lent, the Donley’s and others in the class suggested we have our own One Great Hour of Sharing and donate the collection from this coming Sunday’s class to UMCOR.

Hosts
The Fabulous Morgan Sisters Suzan and Nancy and Shari Goodwin – Many thanks!

Next Week’s Hosts– Bill Gertsen and Judith & Ed Payton
Next Week’s Speaker – Valerie Judkins will share experiences from her trip to Israel last year.

Joys and Concerns

~ Shannon Latchem’s mother passed away – we ask you to keep the family in your prayers

This was in last weeks email, but bears repeating . . .
~ Janet made an announcement about Eric Green. He will be in Little Rock for a few weeks as they monitor and treat his condition which has morphed into something new. Cards and notes can be sent to this address through April 4th:

Eric Green
2200 Riverfront Drive #4111
Little Rock, AR 72202

Janet asked this info to be passed along as well . . . We are starting a two dinner a week plan. This week we’re taking food on Wednesday evening and Friday evening, but that schedule is very flexible. I have the first week covered with donations from the casserole brigade. We’re looking forward to receiving more HALF size casseroles—there will be only three Greens eating here in Tulsa. No lasagna, they seem to have plenty. If you have desserts that you can freeze, those would be very welcomed as well. Please e-mail me at purinton2 or call me at 918-230-3416 if you have meat or a casserole or dessert that you’d like me to pick up. There will be a cooler at Sunday School this coming Sunday to store anything you have prepared until I can get it to my freezer if that would be more convenient.

Prayer
David Carpenter led us in a wonderful Lenten prayer.

See you Sunday – remember to get there early to get your seat for our guest Speaker!
