Maranatha Class Newsletter April 16

It was a great day at Boston Avenue Church. In addition to the inspirational Easter services, we had a joyous time having brunch with members from the Journey Class. Rest assured that as Maranatha folks become older and more feeble, the millennial members in Journey Class will continue to grow and serve the church and the world in powerful ways.

Rev. Steve Dickie will provide the teaching next Sunday then on April 30 Rabbi Sherman will deliver a message to us and others in the Community Hall.

Dan will be back in the saddle next week for the newsletter. I gave it my best shot.

Thank you message from the Spencer family

Since many in our class will not be at the brunch Sunday, I wanted everyone to see the beautiful card (a photograph by Brenda Spencer) and heartfelt thank you from Laurie Spencer and the Spencer family. Indeed, you are an amazing class.

Hello Maranatha classmates. Here is the newsletter for this week.

Certainly a sad time. Brenda Spencer’s services will be at the church on Tuesday, April 4th at 11am. Caranatha has made the arraignments to feed the family.

Dr. Gary Peluso-Verdend provided our lesson this week. We covered the changes in American society and religion from the past several decades up to the present.
He will be back next week.

Thanks,

Maranatha,

Hello Maranatha classmates. Here’s the newsletter for the week.

Our special thanks to Michelle Place for our lesson this week on African American Spirituals. We have great guest speakers in our class but I’m always amazed that the best lessons are given by members of our own class.

Next week the Rev. Dub Ambrose from Oklahoma Methodist Manor will be giving our lesson.

Have a great week!
