Prayers for Brenda Spencer

Charlotte Rowe just received this email from Laurie Spencer –

Hi Charlotte,

Just wanted to let you know about Brenda. She has been struggling with multiple health issues the last 3 months or so. She was admitted to Hillcrest ICU yesterday with severe pneumonia on top of everything else. She appears to be getting better but she isn’t entirely out of the woods. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. (no visitors allowed here) Oh and right now she isn’t able to talk but maybe in a few days or a week she will.

Thanks Charlotte. Hope you are all well.

Laurie

Good day classmates!

Good day classmates. Attached is your newsletter for this week.

Darlene Tegeler finished her lesson on ‘Half Truths’. When she started her lesson my mind started to wander (Don’t worry, this is normal for me). I was thinking of a Facebook post some time ago where you could add your favorite quote from the movie The Princess Bride. A fair number of people posted a quote from Inigo Montoya the swordsman – " I do not think it means what you think it means." Her point was the problems you may encounter with the belief – "God said it, I believe it, that settles it".

This is a great week for the guys in the class. First, one of the best Super Bowls ever, and then next Sunday Coach Montgomery of the Tulsa Hurricanes will be our speaker. He inherited a team that had only 2 wins in the previous year. This year they finished with a 10-3 year, and were invited to play in the Miami Beach Bowl against Central Michigan (Where have I heard of that team before? Oh yea, they beat Oklahoma State.) TU won that game 55-10.

Have a great week.
