Jeff has served as the Executive Director of Restore Hope Ministries since June 2011. Restore Hope has a very sharp website that will quickly show you the amazing service they provide the city in homelessness prevention, hunger reduction, hope promotion and other seasonal events. As you may know, they recently added a second location at 67th & Mingo. Also, you may recall Jeff’s televised announcement from Bishop’s Hall in January 2016 that the Way Home for Tulsa initiative celebrated reaching the goal of placing 290 veterans in housing during 2015 along with 78 chronically homeless people. Restore Hope Ministries is an important outreach for Boston Avenue Church as we assist those in need.
Jeff and his wife Adriane are from Tulsa. When Jeff was choosing a college, he felt God was calling him to be President, so attending Georgetown University in D.C. seemed appropriate where he studied Government and Theology. After graduating, he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Deputy District Director for 2 years. Feeling a strong calling to seminary, he attended Duke University and obtained a Masters of Divinity. He served as Pastor of Southern Hills United Methodist Church for 5 years and during that time was ordained as an Elder. He believes the move to Restore Hope ministries in 2011 was the perfect job for him as he always had a heart for public service and a call to help those in need.
Jeff and Adriane are parents of Benjamin (8) and William (4). Adriane works at INCOG on a Department of Energy grant to encourage alternative fuel vehicles. Jeff is a life long Cubs fan (and now a happy one) and of course follows Duke and Georgetown basketball.
I hope you will be able to hear Rev. Jeff Jaynes teachings the next 2 Sundays. Jim Embry will lead the class Sunday and I will return August 13.
