Hello, Maranatha friends –
Joel Panciera will teach the second of his six-week Lenten series this Sunday. He will begin his lesson promptly at 9:45, then we will conduct class business afterward so that he can leave early to rehearse the Chancel Choir for the 11:00 service.
Unfortunately, we were unable to get a good recording of his lesson last Sunday to put on our website, but if you missed hearing him last week, he will bring you up to speed during his lesson this Sunday.
WELCOME to our new members, Mike and Laura Daniel – it’s great to have you!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Dean O. Todd and Becky Morris – and many more!
THANKS to Suzy Morgan and Angelyn Dale for hosting Sunday, and to Jerry LeDoux for his prayer. Allene and Rex Donley and Brenda Worthington will be our hosts this week, and Janet Purinton will lead us in prayer.
JOYS AND CONCERNS:
Please continue to keep David Cooley in your prayers as he and some family members deal with health issues.
Clarkie Williams is having problems with a rapid heartbeat and her oldest brother, Freddie, is still hospitalized in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, after a light stroke.
Paul Staat is still suffering from neuropathy and would appreciate our prayers as well.
CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Our Finance Committee will be meeting soon to consider class donations for this year. A recommendation form will be emailed out to everyone later today or tomorrow. If you have suggestions of a deserving ministry or agency that could be helped by our donations, please complete the form and bring it to church this Sunday, or email it to Kendall Carpenter as soon as possible.
CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS
This Sunday is the last Sunday to contribute to Lights On for Cookson. If you want to help support this vital ministry to needy individuals and families in northeastern Oklahoma, please leave your donation in the big yellow box in Bishops’ Hall or place it in the offering plate marked “Cookson.”
Discover B.A. on March 4 will resemble a job fair, with informative displays about the various ministries, groups, and Sunday School classes in our church. Maranatha will be participating with a display and class representatives Mickey and Carol Maus will be there to answer questions.
Dr. Maria Dixon-Hall, Senior Advisor to the Provost for Campus Cultural Intelligence Initiatives at Southern Methodist University, was a dynamic, thought-provoking speaker at this year’s Barton Clinton Gordey Series! Her presentations are now available on our church website, www.bostonavenue.org, if you’d like to hear any that you missed (or would like to hear them again.)
Hope you’re having a good, if soggy, week – We’ll see you Sunday.
