Dear Happy Thursday, Maranatha friends,
We had a great morning last Sunday with David Wiggs as our teacher. He will be with us all month to talk about “United Methodist Theology: Think and Let Think.” You can hear recordings of his first presentation, and all of our past lessons, at http://www.bostonavenue.org/maranatha.html .

Welcome to our visitors, Michael Dishman, Molleith McCann and George and Rhonda Chastang. We’d love to have you come backany time!
Happy birthday to Diane Martin on June 5, to Lisa Tallent on June 6, and Peggy Lewis today, June 7! Congratulations to Rob and Andrea Davis and to Bruce and Sharon Chucoski, who are celebrating anniversaries this week.
Thanks to Richard Wansley for our prayer last Sunday, and to Gabriele Blankenship and the Goodwins for our snacks. Becky Morris will have our prayer next week, and the Luks and Shermans will be our hosts and greeters.
Thanks to Pam Sherman and her committee for a great social at the Tulsa Botanical Garden last Thursday. It was warm, but all who came had a great time.
We received two nice thank-you notes from Wesley Fellowship Class members for the brunch we hosted. Those are posted on the bulletin board.
UPCOMING CLASS EVENTS:
If you bought the Utica Square Fifth Night concert dinner at the Christmas Auction last December, it promises to be a beautiful evening this evening! Dinner begins at 6:30 right in front of Restoration Hardware, then Midlife Crisis will start playing at 7:00. Bring a lawn chair and come enjoy – everything else will be provided.
Sunday, June 24, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. is our Class potluck picnic at Keystone State Park with fried chicken provided. Dave Shepherd’s bluegrass band will play and there will be games (horseshoes, beanbag toss, etc.) and great fellowship. Bring a side dish to share – cost of the chicken is $5 per couple.
Another option for June 24 is to help provide and/or serve dinner at Redemption Church. Even if you can’t attend, they would appreciate help with desserts. Contact Dave and Carol Grim if you can help.
POSSIBLE MISSION TRIP: The Maranatha Missions Committee and the Boston Avenue Missions Committee will be sponsoring a mission trip to the Houston area to help repair a home that was damaged during the hurricane and flooding. Only Maranatha members will be participating. The trip will take place sometime between mid-October and early November; the exact dates will depend on the schedules of those interested in going. The cost will be covered by the church. If you are interested in exploring this trip please send an email to Ed Payton at edpayton
JOYS AND CONCERNS:
We were excited to welcome Janet Purinton back to class!
We give thanks that Karen Tankersley is recovering and has been released from the hospital.
Please continue to keep Jennifer Hall in your prayers as she battles cancer. Cards can be sent to her at 120 W Sequoyah Avenue, Oologah OK 74053. You can also email her at nannyhall.
Thanks for all you mean to our class! We’ll look forward to seeing you Sunday.
