This Sunday, September 23, is a big one! We will begin at 9:00 a.m. with fellowship and snacks, followed by announcements and joys and concerns. At 9:20 we’ll all go downstairs to Jubilee Hall together to hear David Wiggs’ “State of the Church” update. The staff has been working long hours to help David prepare this presentation, and it should be well worth your time! Come learn about plans for our church’s future, as well as our current ministries. There will not be an 8:30 worship service – Sunday at 11:00 is our next unity service.
The Rev. Dr. Lisa Davisson, Professor of Hebrew Bible at Phillips Theological Seminary, will teach us on September 30 to close out the month.
Thanks so much to the Rev. Dub Ambrose for teaching us the last two weeks! Last Sunday he led an interesting look at how Mary and Martha might have felt as they greeted Jesus after the death of their brother, Lazarus, and the emotions Jesus himself might have been dealing with as well. If you’d like to hear his lesson, or any of our past lessons, you can find them at http://www.bostonavenue.org/maranatha.html .
