Maranatha Newsletter for March 10-16

Dr. Joel Panciera, Director of Music Ministries at Boston Avenue, began the first of his series of lessons for Lent. He challenged us to "aim for a higher target" in our spiritual life.

Class Announcements

Nancy Harrison, Teri Todd’s sister, visited our class today.

Happy Birthday this week Andy Hood (13), Kip Jones (14), and Liz Williams (16). Anniversary wishes to Pam and John Sherman who are celebrating their anniversary today and Jeannie and Richard Payton who will celebrate theirs on Thursday, the 14th.

Thanks to Pam Sherman for our prayer. Next week Carol Grim will have our prayer. Snacks were provided by the Carpenters and Gabrielle Blankenship. Next week Suzy Morgan and the Grims will bring the snacks.

Our next class social, a Progressive Dinner, will be held on April 6th at 5:00 pm. You can sign up at church next Sunday.

Other upcoming events include:

The Senior Seekers will be showing the movie, "The Quiet Man", starring John Wayne, on Wednesday, March 13 at 1 p.m. in E206. Enjoy a movie, popcorn, and fellowship in our comfy theater room. No cost!

Bishop Robert Schnase, will be speaking on Monday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m., on “Border Crossing: Stories from People at the US-Mexico Border Serving in Ministry”. A spaghetti supper will be held before the presentation.

The church is no longer using Styrofoam cups because of environmental concerns. We have exchanged them with paper cups.
