Dr. Don Hertzler continued his series of lessons for the month of November on "The Discernment in the Desert-the Exodus and Settlement of the Jews". Today he discussed issues involved with the Hebrews traveling across the desert.


Tom and Sue Bennett visited our class on Sunday. We were also visited by Cynthia Burright, our new apartment M occupant.

Class Celebrations

Birthdays this week include Nancy Manduano (12), Sharon Chucoski (14), Carol Maus (16) and Walter Berg (16). No class members celebrated their anniversaries this week.

Sarah Maldonaudo gave the prayer today. Next Sunday Mary Bundren will be giving the prayer.

The Morgans and the Shermans provided snacks for the class on Sunday. The Evans and the Butterworths will be serving snacks on Sunday.

Class Announcements

  • Our class helped sign up over 80 families at Restore Hope for Thanksgiving baskets last week
  • Attendees had great fun at the Pizza and Bunco Party last night, Friday, November 8.
  • There will be an Exodus House Open House on Tuesday, November 12 from 4:30-7:00 pm. It’s a great opportunity to get to know our new apartment occupant, Cynthia.
  • The Redemption dinner will be November 24.
  • The Christmas Auction Party is Saturday, December 7. It’s time to decide what you want to auction for the classes’ mission money.
  • Rhona Barrett, a former occupant of apartment M at Exodus House who is currently Director of the "Stand in the Gap" organization was recently pardoned by Governor Stitt. She also serves on the states’ criminal justice committee. It’s great to hear that our work with Exodus House has borne such wonderful fruit for the community!
  • Don’t forget: We need officers who will serve the class next year.

Church Announcements

  • Senior Seekers will be having a movie on Tuesday, November 12 at the church.
  • The Volunteers in Missions (VIM) training will be on Saturday, November 23 from 9-4. Let Richard Wansley know if you are interested in attending.

Joys and Concerns

  • Lynn Jesse Russell’s sister who recently suffered a stroke is in need of our prayers.
  • Susan Day continues to recover from her knee surgery at Southern Hills rehabilitation center.
  • We appreciated the thoughtful prayer for our veterans which was written by Jimmie Berg. It was our closing prayer today. .
