Maranatha Class Newsletter – February 2

Next Sunday

We will be attending the presentation about McCurdy Ministries in Community Hall at 9:45. McCurdy Ministries is Boston Avenue’s new national mission partner. We will not be having a normal Sunday school class.

Speaker

Philip Boone shared with us information about the Mid-High youth and their activities, including Mid-High Mosaic upcoming in October. He also told us about the Ascends Podcasts that the church does. Thank you, Philip.

Visitors

Welcome to repeat visitors Keith & Charlotte Montgomery and to Joe Morgan (Scott and Debra’s son). Keith & Charlotte also joined us Sunday evening at the Super Bowl party.

Sunday, February 9th is the annual church chili cookoff. We would love to again have a winning entry from Maranatha. Jim Embry took that honor in 2019. If you have a tasty chili recipe, please considering contacting the church and entering the competition.

Joys and Concerns

Wanda Williams is bed-ridden with bronchitis/asthma.

Mary Bundren is recovering from hip replacement.

Martha Blevins was scheduled to have cataract surgery today (Monday).

Other Announcements

Beth Green, CEO of Brief Media, was recently awarded the Feather in Her Cap Award. This award was established in 2017 by a group of women leaders in the animal health industry who formed the non-profit Feather in Her Cap Association, Inc. to honor women who have made outstanding contributions in animal health through scientific, industrial or commercial excellence and by demonstrating commitment to mentoring women. Congratulations, Beth!
