Rev. Susanna Weslie Southard began part 3 of the Apocryphal Narratives that she has been sharing with us these past few years. She is teaching on the book of Judith, a fictional story of a widow who becomes a savior for Israel. She will continue with her lesson next Sunday so make plans to be here.

Visitors

Welcome to repeat visitors Tom & Sue Bennett and to Deborah Robertson. Our speaker, Susanna, also brought a visitor to class. Tom & Sue have been here at least three times, so we now consider them members. Be sure to meet and welcome them the next chance you get.

Upcoming Social Activities

The auction event "Got Wood: Axe Throwing" will be this coming Saturday, February 22nd, from 1:00 to 2:30pm. It is located at 103 E. Main St, Jenks. Please call Jim or Julie at 918-625-3373 if you have any questions.

Saturday, March 7, the class will enjoy a meal together at Calaveras Mexican Grill (next door to Circle Cinema) at 5:30 followed by the viewing of the Disney remake Wendy at 7:00 at Circle Cinema, 10 S Lewis Ave. Please sign up and pay for your $7 movie ticket in advance so the organizers can purchase a block of tickets. Contact Karen Campbell with questions.

Each Tuesday at 11:30, the Maranatha Men meet for lunch and conversation at Smitty’s Garage at 71st and Sheridan. Come join the fun whenever you are free.

Upcoming Mission Opportunities

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb 18, is the annual System fundraiser at 7:00 at Boston Avenue. Tickets for the concert are available at the door and proceeds will be matched by the Oklahoma Methodist Foundation. This year the concert features violinist Tessa Lark.

Joys and Concerns

Wanda Williams was back in class today.

Mary Bundren is recovering from hip replacement.

Martha Blevins is doing well after cataract surgery.

John Sherman is recovering from cochlear implant surgery.

We have about a dozen class members enjoying a trip to the Holy Land with David Wiggs and other Boston Avenue folks.

Karen Gillis-Tinlin is the Maranatha contact for February. Please to not hesitate to reach out to her.
