ELECTIONS for 2012 Officers continues.

Gene Martin’s mom, Betty Martin, passed away 12 October with family at her side, following a fall she suffered in her home 10 days ago.  Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 29 at her home church (The Landing) in Glenpool.

Sunday 30 October is our Fifth Sunday Brunch. Bring your favorite dish. Any theme suggestions for  our Brunch, please email me.

Wednesday 9 November, Balance and Fall Prevention Seminar and Screening in Community Hall.
Join Holly Thompson, physical therapist, for an informative session on balance, preventing falls, safety in the home, and exercise to decrease the risk of falling. Participants will receive a balance and fall risk screening at the end of the session. Holly has over 13 years of experience as a physical therapist at ST John’s Medical Center, in all areas of rehabilitation. Certified as an NDT Therapist. Burroughs Elementary, 1924 North Cincinnati Ave Tulsa OK. Student population is approximately 363 with the school at 99% poverty. In 2007, was name the Title 1 Distinguished School. This school year Burroughs has added 6th Grade and ED class.
Ways you can support Burroughs Elementary:
1. Be a  mentor through the Big Brother and Big Sisters School Based Program
2. Pick an apple from the Apple Tree and fill the request.
3. Provide funding for special projects through our Boston Avenue and Burroughs Together Account
4. Provide any of the following items:

Cookson Hills Christmas Giving October 1 through 31
It is time once again to collect gifts for our United Methodist Mission at Cookson. Tables will be in Bishops’ Hall each Sunday in October to receive these gifts. All gifts must be NEW and UNWRAPPED. They will be taken to the Cookson Center for their Christmas store shopping. Gift list are available in Bishops Hall, Information Desk Window and in the church Paper (The Word)
