Audra Fogle; guest speaker 18 Jan 2015

Class,

Attached is Audra’s bio. She is a dynamic and fun person to be around. She is a very serious and passionate person with a mission. Her lesson this Sunday is titled, "God’s Welcome".

David Wiggs moved Audra from the Youth Ministry to the Welcoming Ministry for our church for a specific reason and purpose. We as Boston Avenue UMC members will want to hear, learn and support our church in this new approach to "open arms" for our members.

See you Sunday at 9:45.

Be Happy and Share that Happiness with others,

Jim

Class,

It was good seeing you all on Sunday. Attached you will find our weekly newsletter.

A BIG REMINDER: I/we need a Reporter for our class, it is a very easy but important job to “capture” a few notes from the class and submit an article to the BAUMC staff for inclusion into “The Word” publication. Sharon Earley has the scoop on this position. Let Sharon and/or I know if you would be interested in this post and try it for awhile.

Go in Peace, Do Good and be Nice to others,

Jim

2015 Roster and Photo Link

Attached is the 2015 class roster and a roster for our out of town members who want to stay connected. Tara Harl can be removed as she just let us know she is moving out of town next week. If there are any additional corrections please email them to my home address: pglow and I will send out a corrections list.

This is the link to the Maranatha Members’ Photos:

The photo link is a private link so not accessible by someone doing a search. You can also view it by going through the Maranatha website and the members only link. Last year the names appeared below the photo. It appears you now have to click on the photo and the name appears in a new window. It might be different in different browsers.

Happy New Year

Maranatha, 4 January 2015

Class,

I hope you enjoyed Jose-Luis message as much as I did this past Sunday. He is a great person with a vision that I personally believe will lead us, as a church and society, into the next evolution of “reaching out” to those in need and less fortunate. The audio recording has been posted to the Maranatha website and is ready to be listened to:

http://www.bostonavenue.org/uploads/audio/150104maranatha.mp3.

This coming week our speaker will be Mr. B. Brandon Scott from PTS. Please, be ready for class to start at 9:45 and for Mr. Scott to start at 10:00. Business will be wrapped up before and after he speaks.

If you have an announcement, please let me know before class if possible. Time is precious and so please be brief and to the point.

I apologize for the lack of time to reach out to the class for Joys & Concerns. Please feel free to email your J & C and I will include them in our class newsletter.

On the technical side from Barbara Meehan: “If you are receiving duplicate class news emails, and would like to make the duplicates stop, find the unsubscribe link in the email from “Maranatha Class Website” and delete your subscription to the maranathaclass.wordpress.org website.”

Blessings and Peace,

Jim

January 4, 2015

Class,

Attached is a short bio of our guest speaker this coming Sunday, Jose-Luis Hernandez Estrada. I normally would not send this out, but this will be the first time Jose-Luis has been to our class; I believe you will be impressed and blessed with his speaking and message.

Also, any and all Joys & Concerns you want me to announce or publish (or kept in private), let me know and I will work it for you.

You will notice a new set up in the classroom. The refreshment table has been moved to the east wall in hopes this will de-conflict with the coffee/tea group.

Please feel free to mingle, get your refreshments and snacks during the business time (9:45 – 10:00 & 10:30 – 10:40). Be ready for our speaker at 10:00 – 10:30.

Finally, I plan on starting at 9:45 to try and see if this will help us with class time management…if not, Plan B!

Peace, Happiness and Health to us all in 2015,

v/r,

Jim
