Hi everyone, I have a prayer request,

And more.

My friend Jama Moore, a lifelong Methodist but not affiliated with church since moving back to Tulsa 10 yrs ago, retired TPS band director and jazz musician, (Rob Reck knows her, well, he knows everyone!) last night got a brain tumor confirmation.

This was discovered when she broke her nose in a fall (along with her shoulder) a few weeks ago.

She is looking at going to MD Anderson as St Francis can’t get her scheduled for months.

Here’s the request: I am networking to see if any former patient of MD Anderson can touch base with her to give some support/assurance/info……as you can imagine she is bowled over right now. I have left messages for Amy Venable/Paul Staat. They do not need any food/etc. support now, just prayers and emotional support.

Since you will mostly be loafing the next several days and have abundant quiet time to decide how you should serve next year, following is an update of what is filled and what is needed:

VP Missions: Wide Open! An entire new team. This is coordinating the way our class serves people in Tulsa. Pam Sherman will join the group.

Social: Pam Sherman will continue. We need like 5 or 6 more. This is a key way we stay connected with each other and it is fun!

Caranatha: Allene & Rex Donley, Sharon Earley, Debra Morgan. We would like more.

Our own Ed Payton was our speaker for the lesson this Sunday. I thought that I knew him reasonably well, but after that introduction, I feel like I’ve wasted my adulthood. He was well prepared for his lesson on The Emerging Church, an interesting time for our faith.

Next week will be a Brunch Sunday.

As Glenna Arnott announced, the December mission project will occur at Neighbor for Neighbor on Wednesday December 6 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. located at 505 E 36th St N.
This is a large Christmas event where you will greet people, hand out tickets for gift bags, distribute gift bags to the audience, serve popcorn and drinks, escort families to get their picture taken, perhaps join the carolers, and others duties as assigned. So far we have:

Sunday morning Rev. David Wiggs announced that there are several hundred pledge cards still outstanding. If you haven’t sent your pledge, I encourage you to call the church and let them know your estimated or known giving for next year. It will help reduce the hundreds of calls they have to make this Thursday.
