Gene Martin’s Mom, Betty Martin

Gene Martin’s mom, Betty Martin, passed away yesterday afternoon with family at her side, following a fall she suffered in her home 10 days ago. Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 29 at her home church (The Landing) in Glenpool.

At this time, Gene and Diane don’t need anything. As you may recall, Diane’s mom passed away three weeks ago. Prayers for comfort and strength and cards during this difficult time would be appreciated.

Maranatha may be called upon to help with a family meal when the family gathers for the weekend of the 29th. We will keep you informed.

Elections for 2012 Class Officers will begin October 23 at 9:30AM and conclude December 18 at 10:45AM.

For those who are unhappy with that, let us keep in mind that Christmas is on a Sunday this year. Whether we have Sunday School and Church on Christmas or not, I don’t think we will make much progress Christmas Day, aka: low attendance. As I said in class and will now say again, for those who are unhappy with the current officers (We know you’re out there) here is your chance to sign up for Office and show us how, and possibly set a standard for future Officers.

In short make your voice and presence known during the Election!

I will not be running for Office in 2012. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity, I’m very grateful.

Sincerely

William

Diane Martin’s Mom

Dear Maranatha Friends,

Diane Martin’s mom, Mary Lee Wilson, passed away late Thursday afternoon at St. John’s Adult ICU.  Gene and Diane were with her, along with Diane’s dad, brother and nephew.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th at 11 AM in the Boston Avenue Church Rose Chapel.  Immediately following the service cookies and coffee will be available in the Parlor.

Maranatha will provide lunch for the family following the reception.  The class will purchase a ham.  We will need salads, vegetables, breads and desserts for 35 people.  We will be setting up at 10 a.m. and we will also serve and clean up.

If you are able to provide food and/or help with set up, serving and/or clean up, please email Karen Brownlee Campbell at k.brownlee(at)sbcglobal.net (substitute an “@” for the “(at)”).
